while this should be the first time for me to understand the most parts within the
lecture. Here came David Gross, the man who computed the famous asymptotic freedom
in QCD. The small class room were fraught with people, but what made me so surprised is
that there were many guys I couldn't recognize, which means there should be many
pople coming from other institutions such as NTNU, NCU, or Academic Sinica. Even
professor Yeh from Caltech also join the speech. For listening to a speech given by a
well knowned speaker who has given plenty of speeches around the world for many years, it is
unsurprised to see the brilliant transparencies with dazzling special effects and to be enchanted
by speaker's eloquent and convincing statement; Among his gorgeous slices,I especially
like the the picture of an underwear advertisement which is titled String Theory and
has a slogan below it, when physics become physical; I will be glad to send it to
my girlfriend as a birthday present, providing I have one. However, I have to admit
this whole speech is also an advertisement for propagandizing string theory itself. So far, I am
unable to tell you whether I believe string theory since I haven't understood it
actually. Well, many people may claim string theory could be the most promising
candidate of the theory of everything. Frankly speaking, I agree to this kind of
statement, but the supplement for the above saying is that everything is always
nothing. Nevertheless, when this nothing becomes a trend followed by many people,
and then it means something. After several nonsenses and murmurs, what I indeed
want to say is that I will definitely study this fashionable theory, but it will
not be much possible for me to take it as my research interest. After all, the pure
mathematics is always not my taste.
